Who We Are & Who We Serve

Community safety net hospitals are integral to California’s hospital safety net. PEACH member hospitals are core safety net providers located in underserved communities throughout California, including San Francisco, Fresno, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties, as well as major rural areas.

Our member hospitals provide an average of 70 percent of their care to low income, senior and uninsured patients.

Among all other safety net hospital groups, California’s community safety net hospitals provide: 

  • 40% of care to the uninsured
  • Half of all care to Medi-Cal patients
  • Half of all emergency medical care
  • The most acute care (66%) to the sickest low-income babies
  • The most care to seniors (66%)
